Researching the trellis: obsession, remembrance and construction
My memory is a working card catalogue of my life; the subsequent outcome of lived experience. But each piece is just that: a single card holding one piece of information. One piece among myriad others, but each exists beyond itself ‐ the connotations, the connections, the weight and texture, the point at which the future spreads out beyond it and into everything else. I will honor these cards in women’s catalogues as the briefest visual narrative, as images depicting the moments that shaped the women in my life; the snapshots that cascade past them when they see a telephone or a soap filled‐sink. Capturing the feelings of remembrance and nostalgia in the times of adolescence.
