As a paper cut artist, I love a medium with a strong potential for formal variety. Paper is a fragile material, but after it’s cut, it reveals a new strong and resilient voice with a natural delicacy. Through the paper cut method, I express my emotions and experiences, and demonstrate my craftsmanship. Through paper, I can emphasize the emotional resonance of the image depicted along with its visual beauty. Specifically, the cut paper’s form allows me to create a range of emotion with shadows; I draw with the knife, or with scissors, and express my aesthetic sensations, emphasizing subtlety and vulnerability through the delicacy of my line work.
