With the growing presence of our digital presence during our lives, it is becoming very apparent that this Internet existence will not cease when we die. This paper seeks to understand the concept of a “digital death,” a phrase I’ve coined to describe the phenomenon of grieving across different social me- dia sites. I hope to begin to dispel Internet mourning as an oddity, or some- thing that is seen as an incorrect way of dealing with death.
Within this paper I have learned grieving is far more complex than “right” and "wrong.” There is validity in the way we are beginning to express ourselves, and this paper seeks to express this.
