Sadie Soliman BFA General Fine Arts Thesis Spring 2014

Sadie Soliman is a Portland-based, interdisciplinary, multicultural artist and activist who creates work about the decadence found in vulnerability and about relearning the world with a queer eye. By using ceramics, intaglio, and storytelling, she questions cultural identity, the concept of home, magical occurrences, and naturalness. Her subversive, whimsical aesthetic makes these difficult themes approachable with room for interpretation for all ages. Sadie’s true passion is to illustrate otherworldly, fictional landscapes and characters that in-turn create a resting place from reality.
