Many people see the border as a perpetual problem that seems to have no solution. I myself had mixed feelings about it for a long time. I saw the border as not only dividing countries but it also divided me. The border is the beginning of a story of displacement and nostalgia for many immigrants including myself. Nor here or there, we travel from space to space calling both home. The installation is a simulation of the border exploring my own struggles to find out who I am. In the installation there are no sides there are just spaces that the viewer experiences. Each space shows the reality and struggles of the immigrant. This installation is not about the separation and division of spaces. The installation is about how easily those spaces can be transgressed. I feel that with one connection we can stop the border from defining us.
