Heather Dray BFA General Fine Art Thesis Fall 2016

Autobiographical in nature, the aim of this thesis is to discuss my personal experiences with death, the evolution of how I understood and felt it, and the things I have been confronted with in my grief. Using purely my own experiences, particularly the loss of my father in February, this work was made as a response to my grief. While the viewer is mainly meant to feel a sense of nostalgia and maybe even detect humor; for me this work is a reaction to the reality of the transitions in my life in dealing with absence, feelings of isolation, and longing.
