I’m Just Fat: A Statement About Bodies is my physical manifestation and creative response to the judgment of bodies. My art practice has involved examining the experience of the body in relation to others and objects. Currently, I investigate the way groups and categories of people build hierarchies that shame individuals. Specifically, I look at the denial of some bodies to experience of a happy life; this happens through the loss of autonomy and authority for the self due to the body’s appearance.
