Altered States
Capitalism functions within structures of neofascism and colonialism imposed by the financial class to suppress working people. My work is a critique of the hegemonic power system through the historic discussion of armed resistance of marginalized groups against imperialism. This specifically observes the bitter struggle of workers, anticolonialists, and anarchists against the coercive systems of oppression by which western Capitalism profits. I utilize objects and materials traditionally used in barriers and blockades by antiauthoritarian movements in conjunction with printed matter as homage to the printmaker’s historic role in direct action. This work functions as a provocation of dialogue of political violence against the state and a love letter to the comrades who came before.
