Queer joy is…

…A journey of self discovery, self acceptance and
the cumulative experiences that led to the realization
that my voice as a queer, trans individual is valid.
Through the use of 3D design, augmented and mixed
reality I have created imaginative future spaces for
queer and trans people who don’t often find safety and
acceptance in their current reality. These spaces are
abstract and have nods to objects from spaces in my
life where I have felt joy. Through the lens of my
experience and practice, I also look at how emerging
design technology like virtual reality can help bring
inclusion and acceptance into our current reality by
shifting our perceptions.
