PNCA / Cyan PDX Cultural Residents Julie Lasky and Ernest Beck discuss Design and Social Change–What are the critical questions?

PNCA hosted internationally respected journalists and design critics, Julie Lasky and Ernest Beck, who visited Portland as part of the PNCA / Cyan PDX Cultural Residency Program in Spring 2010. Lasky is Editor of Change Observer and Beck is a journalist and Editorial Director of the 2009 Aspen Design Summit. Lasky and Beck engaged in a series of public events, discussions and exchanges with members of Portland’s art and design community, as well as students and faculty at PNCA.

In this 3BY10 IDSA Series presentation at the Design Within Reach Portland studio, Julie Lasky and Ernest Beck reflect on the critical conversations that designers and design educators need to engage. Moderated by Carl Alviani and presented with Art Institute of Portland and Industrial Design Society of America Oregon Chapter.

As part of their residency, Lasky and Beck also gave a Bright Lights Talk in conversation with Randy Gragg.
