Joshua Hughes BFA Sculpture Thesis Spring 2017
At the crux of all human existence is the underlying fact that we all come from different cultural and subcultural backgrounds with many different experiences and histories that inform the way we interpret the world around us. The art objects within this body of work explore this fact by providing the viewer a collage of conceptual information collected through analysis of the contemporary cultural environments. The objects which are presented obtain a level of “Conceptual Fractalization” which allows the viewer to interpret the work(s) according to their own life experience. This therein allows the viewer to then be the conceptual author of the work.
