Justin Kenney BFA Thesis Fall 2012
Failure and Success
This body of work is comprised of six intaglio prints, two abstract concrete and steel sculptures, a larger than life concrete and copper man and a stainless steel bear’s head. The copper used to create the man was the etching plates used to create the intaglio prints. All the metal was formed and all the concrete was poured, two potentially opposite means of creation.
The ideas that create this paper reflect my ability to accept failure in my artwork. I talk about gunpowder, Thomas Edison, Albert Einstein, and Dave Dahl. These all have in common, failure existing as a means to gain success.
