Martin Kersels

Graduate Visiting Artist Lecture Series 2009

Los Angeles-based artist Martin Kersels has long used art as a forum for wrestling with the limitations and possibilities of being a fully embodied, sentient and emotional being. He employs a range of media, from sculpture and photography to video and performance. He has worked on staff at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the UCLA Art Department, and currently serves as a faculty member and co-director of the art program at the California Institute of the Arts. Kersles was recently selected for the 2010 Whitney Biennial.
