Through a 36-page field guide, I am creating a gift to my younger self. Through the primary function of reflective narrative about my artistic journey from adolescence to adulthood, and the secondary function of showcasing an ability to effectively produce work aimed for the Visual Development market, I am creating a series of fantastical characters and creatures that play off of fantasy tropes that inspired me as a kid. Each character receives a corresponding theme of symbolism and application to my current day life, as well as a letter written to my younger self describing the importance of said symbolism. In a way, I am showing that I have lived a life of adventure and wonder like I wanted to as a child, it just looks different than that little girl expected.
