The Future of Our Oceans

Graduate Visiting Artist Lecture Series 2014

Oceans dominate our Blue Planet. The sea is home to most of our biodiversity, making up 90 percent of the biosphere—that portion of the earth harboring life. But today our oceans face myriad threats – oil spills are often top of mind, but most scientists agree that CO2-drivien threats like ocean acidification, polar ice melting, sea level rise, as well as overfishing, coastal development, and pollution represent the biggest hazards to our oceans. Join ocean advocate and marine conservationist Michael Sutton, Vice President, National Audubon Society, along with a distinguished panel of experts to celebrate our oceans and learn what we can do to protect them.
