How I Came to Understand Life Outside of Auto-Stop and Why I Learned to Cry Good in the Noise Fields of an Endless Drone is a generative sound piece made out of tape loops and acoustic feedback. Installed in the basement of PNCA in Portland, OR the work was an installation for focus week Spring 2015. This piece aimed to use timbres of rock and roll music combined with a minimalist approach to musical composition. The work is reactive and the feedback and microphones resonate with bodies as the move through the space. The work removes typical connotations of these musical instruments and uses them as resonating objects to create a drone. It also speaks to musical structure and the removal of a set beginning or end to a composition. With no linear time structure the drone relies on experience and vibrations and the composition is created by the viewer. It remains a constant for the mind and body to move through.
