Through a series of paintings and sculptures, I have constructed a visual narrative based on the effects of two head injuries I sustained during my life. The central piece of my thesis is titled, “Passing On the Knowledge.” This piece depicts a young victim of a head injury passing an object to an older victim of a head injury. In this instance, the younger victim is the wiser of the two figures. He has lived through a serious head injury and is now passing on his knowledge to the older figure, who is in the process of healing both physically and emotionally.
Other pieces work towards the same goal, spreading understanding of what it is like to live through these injuries, but they each have slightly different ambitions.
