With this painting, I wanted to explore the Old Master genre of the memento mori using the theme of Harry Potter, or more specifically, it’s antagonist, Tom Riddle. It was important to me that the fan art aspect blended with the overall idea of “everybody dies”, as this concept is driven home in the Harry Potter series.
