Down the Rabbit Hole

In the painting it shows a porcelain half doll lamp, from maybe around the 1950s, with a pile of antlers under her, painted gold and silver, and it all sits in an alabaster bowl. Unfortunately somewhere along the lamp’s journey she lost her clothes and hair. I outfitted her with a small blue doll wig but she still sits with a naked torso and a bare cage like skirt. She reminds me of a character out of Alice in Wonderland. I rarely fix up any of the pieces I find. I enjoy seeing them as is, to show how they have survived the years, all the wear they might have received.
