For thousands of years, humans have been working the materials around them to make their material culture. Up until the industrial revolution and the invention of plastic and synthetic materials, we as humans have surrounded ourselves with objects and buildings and tools made with materials sourced from the natural world: metals, textiles, clay, wood. The list goes on, each gathered and energized through human touch and intention.

Fast forward to today, and I find myself surrounded by materials that make no sense to me as a human. material wisdom and a shrine for our senses is an exploration into what it means to work with and learn from materials that make sense to me as a human. It is a space dedicated to opening senses and learning from our surroundings. It is a space for opening up, letting in, and paying attention.
