An optimized self-portrait using input from the “Picked For You: Goth Glamour” content block on Instagram’s explore page. Tracking the visual cues such as makeup, clothing, lighting, etc I created a visual persona which would successfully simulate the “Goth Glamour” online identity shown to me by the Instagram algorithm, passing for real next to the self images of members of this online subculture.
