Reliquary for Capitalism

an ornate artifact, housing the
essence of capitalism. A relic of a bygone power. The outside of the
structure resembles the architecture of a church. The engraved surface of
the reliquary box features a foundation of human skulls that supports the
pristine brickwork of the structure above. The arcane symbols of
corporatocracy are emblazoned in the golden structure. A mirrored face on
the front of the box reflects back the viewers own visage until activated
through the use of the kneeler, at which point the mirror becomes a portal
to an internal landscape. Conflated with the viewer’s reflection, the infinity
expanding space inside features a pristine artificial lawn, checker boarded
with mass graves. The field stretches as far as the eye can see, with rough
rectangular ditches punched through the turf containing bodies dumped
unceremoniously and left unburied. This is the final resting place for the
uncountable victims of capitalism’s insatiable thirst for power.
