Making Sense of What Doesn't Make Sense

The projection of snarled and tangled knitted wire on canvas, traced and painted methodically. This translation of object to painting, transformed through the different mediums, I was able to perceive chaos in and disruption in different way. By painting the traced lines in a systematic way, analyzing emerging the shapes, and making decisions in a systematic way, I was able to decipher the the complicated, twisted lines of the wire. I relate this idea to the intricacy of emotion, such as anxiety, and how those feelings can be calmed and smoothed out with mindfulness and calm attention.
