1. Betrayal in the light of the city

You watch a group of travellers creep up a low hill and gaze upon the city that stands in the center of the wasteland. It grows up out of the ground in a circular pattern, glowing golden in the moonlight, with tall houses reaching up towards the sky. A flickering flame and a column of smoke can be seen moving up the buildings in an unnatural way, filling the travellers with a sense of foreboding. At this moment, one sneaks up behind the other and brings a rock down on their head, a betrayal in sight of their goal.
