Salon leader Sam MacKenzie shared basic information on approaching and working with galleries, then led a discussion based on group questions and experiences with galleries and portfolios.

Interested in showing in galleries but don’t know where to start? Have some experience but would like to discuss ways to improve your presentation? I Heart Art: Portland hosted “Getting Artsy: Approaching and Showing at Galleries” at Every Day Wine, May 4, 2011. Salon leader Sam MacKenzie shared basic information on approaching and working with galleries, then led a discussion based on group questions and experiences with galleries and portfolios.

A lot of the topics covered serve as a perfect primer for an evening of intense networking with gallery owners and curators for I Heart Art: Portland’s May 18 Mixer Match event.

About the Salon Discussions
I Heart Art: Portland’s evening salon discussions allow for informative community conversations on topics that wouldn’t be suitable for a workshop setting. Hosted at a variety of locations, the host of each discussion is an expert or leading thinker on the given topic. Discussions are be shaped around four to five open-ended statements and encourage the open, positive and egalitarian exchange of ideas.
