Pacific Northwest College of Art welcomed visiting writers from the International Writing Program (IWP) at the University of Iowa to the campus and the city of Portland.

The IWP gives established and emerging creative writers from around the world—poets, fiction and nonfiction writers, and dramatists—broad exposure to currents in American
literature and culture. Since 1967, the IWP has hosted over a thousand writers from more than 120 countries. The US Department of State is a major source of support of the program and
along with PNCA, has made it possible for these five international writers to visit PNCA and Portland for an exciting week of immersion in the city’s literary community.
