Interior and product designer Shashi Caan speaks on “Design Futures: The Art, Science and Craft” as part of the MFA in Applied Craft and Design Graduate Lecture Series.

Internationally recognized interior and product designer Shashi Caan presented a graduate lecture, “Design Futures: The Art, Science and Craft,” at the MFA Applied Craft and Design Studios at the Bison Building on April 1, 2010. Caan discussed previous projects, megastructures, why architects won’t take interior designers seriously and her role as an educator for design.

Caan is founder of the The Shashi Caan Collective, and former Director of Interior Design at Parsons School of Design in New York City. The widely published and honored Collective strives to create ?a bridge between art and science, the esoteric and the pragmatic, and between practice and education.

The MFA in Applied Craft and Design is a joint degree program offered by PNCA and Oregon College of Art and Craft.
