Born in 1939, Clayton Bailey is perhaps best known for exemplifying the Funk Movement of American art. He has exhibited profusely across the United States, been awarded grants from the American Craft Council, the Tiffany Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, the National Council for Education for the Ceramic Arts, and the California Arts Council, and been granted one U.S. patent (#4440390) for his “Novelty Squirting Cup.”
