Inside the city, I sit in my high tower reading. An eerie flickering red light dances on my walls at the edges of my awareness, mingling with the golden yellow glow that emanates from the buildings in my city. The light calls to me, getting brighter, threatening to break my focus. But I feel unwilling to tear myself away from my daydream and address the reality of the unusual light; which is now accompanied by a growing warmth. I begin to sweat, garbed in flannel as I am, but I keep reading, trying to shut it out. You watch as the Fire Beast, a sick amalgamation of consumed entities driven by fear and single minded hatred, climbs up towards my window, threatening to engulf me in the conflagration.
