In my piece E-Waste, we see a ruined artificial body resting on a hard metallic surface. The artificial body appears to have experienced a violent end. The form approximates a human female. Its artificial skin is torn revealing both mechanical and biological systems. Intestines spill over unidentified mechanical organs and a robotic skeleton. The figure is propped up on its left elbow while reaching with the remains of its destroyd arm, a last remaining indication of fading life. What kind of consciousness occupied this body? Human or artificial intelligence? We project our own humanity on this ruined form, allowing us to see it as more than simply junk.
