Ebony Driftwood multi-media installation is addressing Reppin yo hood, represent your sexuality, represent yourself, or representing your family. My family includes my direct parents and siblings, and I also consider my family people of African descent everywhere. I am using my creative wheelhouse to explore the constantly fluctuating idea of African American identity like a boat at sea. I am focused on what black people, as a group, have been through and what I am dealing with in my own personal timeline. This project asks “How can I get a snapshot of the constantly changing and fluctuating experience of African-Americans and how do I fit in?”
