Field Guide to Magical Thinking and Alternate Realities investigates the liminal space tessellating between reality, perception and the unknown. Looking at imagination and magical thinking as a hyper-realistic, fantastical place, this essay examines strategies used to create art environments that conjure experiences of wonder and discovery. Field Guide to Magical Thinking and Alternate Realities analyzes my thesis exhibition, Alter Destiny and explores ambiguity and transformation through metamorphosis of materials and the hero’s journey to imagined lands and reimagined destinies.
