Sorting Jelly Beans: An Exploration of Controlling Food and Organizing Compositions

My own drawings and paintings operate as physical representations of my body acting upon paint and paper to create visual metaphors and symbols; they stand in for my daily need to remain in control over my relationship to food. I argue that my work exhibits my personal experiences with food, and my need to organize my food and eating habits is a way of relating to my viewer and her own desire to have control over something in her own life.
