Nurtured by the dank Pacific Northwest climate, lichen flourishes year round in a symbiotic relationship with the fungi of the region. When examined closely, lichen forms an intricate texture. It is both chaotic and geometric, two seemingly disparate qualities that most creative souls can identify with.
duality, chaotic and geometric, method to the madness, harmonious and free, organized chaos
In my studio work, I have created a line of twenty-five botanical pattern designs for fabric, intended to be used within the home. This line is inspired by plants of the Pacific Northwest. The fabric is targeted at creative women who would ideally use it to craft something for their home, bringing the outside in.
