De-Wilding

“De-Wilding” is a sculptural investigation of zoological and ecological trends and how human intervention changes the body of the animal. More importantly it is a materialization of the dismembered and disembodied animal. Using textiles and clay I’ve created five amorphous body forms that together act as a metaphor for the larger ecological crisis. Using the vocabulary of fashion I address issues of beauty, luxury and consumption surrounding species survival. It is a response to the ways human society affects the animal.
