The Curiosities of Nature
This project is the exploration of the human relationship with the environment. It is also working to develop and investigate spirituality in relation to nature and the wilderness. How can I, as an artist, work to become more in touch with the natural world and communicate these experiences and their importance to others? The works created and ideas formed are a result of my personal experience with different forms of what we, as humans, consider a natural place. This paper communicates the thought processes that my explorations have inspired. As a result of my experiences and research I have come to investigate the concepts of, experience, memory, time, the politics of my practice and the wilderness as a sanctuary.
