This piece catylized the change in my art that happened early in the Fall 2013 semester. Under the theme “tricksters” for the class Gods, Heroes, and Monsters, I depicted myself as a Trickster, a being of liminal gender space, between male and female. The star became my symbol, neither sun nor moon, though the moon is depicted as part of my female past. It’s telling to me that it was a piece addressing my place in the gender continuum that changed my art, showing the invisible thread between the two— my art and my sense of self.

This piece was then repurposed as a promo postcard.
