Mary Brossman BFA Thesis Spring 2013

In my thesis project, three activated sculptures stand physically in space placed around a central, digitally prototyped amorphous object: one embedded with and iPad which displays the interactive object virtually, one with an LCD screen that plays a video camera captured loop of the object, and one that holds a projector which projects a moving image onto itself. By placing these sculptures within a space, I am asking my audience to immerse themselves into the space and view the different modes of representation of the amorphous object. I have exhibited the object in all of its forms in the same space as a means to gain information about it through multiple lenses simultaneously. It is my hope to create a connectedness within the work to begin conversation, and for the object to become part of their pre-knowledge when looking at other objects.
