Terri Bradley VS MFA Thesis 2013

WANDER.LINE.WONDER

The intent of this paper is to consider the integral role ambiguity plays in our being and perception of the world. The paper explores the ways sensual data— through vision, experience, and scientific experimentation—evidence the limited perspective we have in our universe. I have focused on issues of perception, time, and space: combining phenomenological and existential views of consciousness with philosophies on art, works of art that encourage us to wonder, and scientific research that speaks to the ambiguous nature of the world we exist in.

The following ideas are a culmination of research related to the visual work completed during my studies in the MFA Visual Studies program. It expands on my exploration of line, color, time, and space through drawing, sculpture, and installation.
