Andrew Ellibee BFA Thesis Spring 2012
Intangible Beauty
This is a project about collaboration. This is a project about community. And this is a project about the art of making, relational aesthetics, and the beauty of human interaction.
Though this project I aim to examine the value of what it means to work with other people and discover where the value in a print truly lies. I am questioning the ideas of authorship, the exchange of information, and the historical context of working with other people. And at the end of it all, I am hoping to come away with a better understanding of what it means to exist in a community of printmakers and what happens when people from outside of the print community are brought in to take a leading role on a project that they may or may not fully understand.
