History and subjectivity mingle in the words of a storyteller creating a cohesive experience for her audience. The reliability of a storyteller is questionable when multiple versions of history cross paths. How do you know fiction from truth?

I interviewed family and friends to use oral narratives about my deceased father. Everyone who knew Pete Fry has a story about him—he was a gambler, drinker, trickster, and storyteller—and, after his death, he became a folk hero to me. In his absence I collected his stories from relatives, which shaped the construction of an animation.
