During the summer of 2009, my friend and I took a road trip. We left in June; our journey began in California where we made our way east to finally arrive in Georgia by August. We made our way by taking Greyhound bus, hitch hiking and the magic of Craig’s List rideshare bulletins. Throughout the trip we made sacrifices, became tempted to return home, met with glorifying experiences as well as coming across occurrences of spiritualism, superstition and the bizarre. These experiences and stories from the road eventually shaped what I would come to believe as a journey of self-discovery.
