Michael Welsh VS MFA Thesis 2011

Have no fear: Nothing is gone forever, it just swirls around in time and space

A failure or unwillingness to achieve the American Dream has led many Americans to drop out of culturally normative society. Although the lives and livelihoods of these groups is short lived and their existence is often overlooked in history books, what they have seen and done will be preserved forever by the things that they leave behind. Have No Fear presents the ritualized leftovers of a punker anarchist hippie space raver doom tribe. These allegorical paintings and sculptures serve as an investigation into the allure and ceremonial nature of illicit, anti-social activities.
