TOOTH is a book, a love letter to my daughter, a tale she can call her own while honoring these image makers who came before me. Illustrating a dream I had before she was born, I’ve created an image-only, high-seas adventure. This is book is drawn, literally and figuratively, from those bits and pieces percolating up from the depths of my mind; it is as lucid a facsimile of that late night two years ago when it’s genesis came to me. Remembering the stories my parents read me, books that are now part of my own narrative, and while watching her grow and herself see the world, the time is now to create this artifact for her history.
