Eva Ashford BFA Thesis Spring 2011
Meta-Stasis: Beyond Stillness
This thesis explores the growth and cycle of cancer through a continually changing sculptural installation. I am using medical terminology, such as graft vs host and metastasis as processes that guide the creation of the objects and the space. Disease has informed the way I think about life—disease as a theory, medium, metaphor and story. I aim to investigate the evolution of disease experienced within a installation, the physical reactions to certain visceral objects, and the relationship between body, space, and disease.
