“The HouseHold” is a three and half minute 2D digitally animated film.
This project is a reflection of my own life, and the traumatic events that transpired due to having an alcoholic parent, and then the separation of the parents. This film does aim to be relatable for others who have experienced traumas within the safety of their homes. This project is a continuation of another film I made called “The Escape”. Both dabble with the idea of childlike imagination and creativity as a coping mechanism; and the different ways children process their traumas. And how the family and household copes together as a whole, through abstract visual storytelling.
