The Seed and The Rot are part of a working memoir series that illustrates the life of a young woman as she come to terms with her past decisions she has made and of the decisions that were made for her, as a child. With the first part of this series present I focus on attachment theory and the psychological impact it carries throughout generations. Using lyrical memoir as the basis, I am expelling a truth I wish to share with others so that we can begin to understand and heal one another. By using symbolism and curated imagery in my video work, I hope to confront the complexity of grief, loss, truth and even the beauty of the traumas we endure in a lifetime. The Seed and The Rot is just the beginning of this vision in hopes that one day I will reach the bloom.
