Acceptance is a completed 21-page mixed-media comic depicting both my own and my Nonnas experiences with sexual assault, 60 years apart. It focuses on how sexual assault hurts the victim, as well as the different healing processes the both of us, went through.

I want this to serve as something that speaks to that and highlights the fact that the culture we created and live in still allows perpetrators of sexual assault to get away with it, that has never changed. Victims from both 60 years ago and today are still dismissed and shamed such as myself and my Nonna. Including the healing process and solidarity between two victims was important to me. I want people to know it is possible to end up living a happy fulfilling life despite the pain and trauma a victim goes through.
