This large scale screenprint on birch wood explores the history of the IRA before the organizaiton’s treaty-split in 1969, in conjunction with a popular slogan from the May 1968 student uprising in France, in which students tore up parts of the street to form barricades against the police.
This work functions as an exploration of armed anticolonialist action, and how our history becomes a utilitarian object, or barricade.
