Jeff Cravath Animated Arts Thesis Fall 2019

An improvisational duet is like an unfiltered physical conversation. Like anything improvised it entails some sense of vulnerability. It can be a liminal and fluid space of creative workshopping with very concrete, socially bonding consequences. My thesis film is about a fantasy of subversive playful tenderness: A dance that takes place in a time and space least likely for one to occur, in the heat of a parking altercation. The film can be considered a visual poem about a confluence of two spatial and kinetic identities, merging in subversion to social norms and cinematic expectations.
